Along with it there was the opening ceremony of the photographic exhibition of GPU members which included 70 photos of 50×70 cm dimensions.
The fortress initially existed there was converted to a castle in 1794 and is now a multi-room where a lot of events regarding Art and Civilization take place.
The castle, which is a jewel of the city of Carei, is a one-store classicist building member of the European Network of Cultural Centers and was awarded with the “Decade of Cultural Heritage” of UNESCO in 1995.
It was in such an important monument that GPU had the honor of realizing its first European photographic center. A place where GPU will be able to organize all sorts of events such as photographic exhibitions, workshops etc.
On behalf of GPU but also me personally as the President, wish to thank from the bottom of our heart the directors of the castle, Mr. Bikfalvi Zsolt and Mr. Georgescu Dragos for their contribution to the realization of this important goal.
