One of the primary goals of the Global Photographic Union is the promotion of photographic art on a worldwide scale. Raising awareness about its activities and the benefits that members receive by joining its vast global community is a mission carried out daily by the Board members. The organization of high-level artistic exhibitions featuring international authors, workshops and photo festivals held in the most enchanting and sought-after locations for photographers, as well as photo books and issues of the elegant GPU Magazine—all freely available to browse and download—are a source of great interest and pleasant surprise for most art and photography lovers.

From June 14 to 19, 2026, Vice President Claudio Calosi had the pleasure of meeting students from the Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design at Düzce University in Turkey, as well as photographers from the local clubs of the Turkish Federation in the Black Sea province.
Over several days, Claudio Calosi co-conducted field lessons with young students from the four-year Photography degree program alongside Prof. Evren Günevi Uslu and lecturers Murat Uslu, Eray Ünal, and Oğuzhan Duman. Together, they held practical shooting sessions, exploring outdoor and indoor photographic techniques with the help of models wearing traditional local costumes.

On another evening, as a guest of the Düzce City Photography Club—chaired by Özel Çelik and assisted by the renowed photographer Emel Gülseren Uslu—Claudio Calosi met numerous photographers and enthusiasts from this populous Black Sea province. He illustrated the wide-ranging activities of the Global Photographic Union, which span from patronages for international photo contests to an intricate system of awards and distinctions unmatched by any other existing association. He also highlighted the prestigious collective art photography exhibitions in which members can participate free of charge, as well as the print and online publications that can be browsed or downloaded at any time from anywhere in the world.

The evening was further enriched by projections of Claudio Calosi’s personal work, which was highly appreciated by the large audience, who subsequently engaged the GPU Vice President with dozens of questions.
