GPU Opening Ceremony Exhibition, “Pulse of Life”, took place at the historic Károlyi Castle in Romania
Featuring 115 photographs by 68 photographers, the exhibition highlights both the individuality of each viewpoint and the subtle threads that link lives across cultures and circumstances.
In April 2026, the Photographic Society of America (PSA) invited a delegation of GPU to attend its Worldwide PSA Photo Gathering in Vietnam. From April 23rd to 30th, 2026, President Manolis Metzakis and Vice-President Claudio Calosi participated in this photo gathering, traveling to several locations in North Vietnam.
CITY SPEAKS, the GPU Photography Exhibition at the Qatar Photographic Center (Katara – Building 18), Doha, Qatar, presents 96 photographs in 48 diptychs, pairing cities worldwide to reveal the subtle connections that shape our shared urban experience.
The Hellenic Photographic Society of Heraklion, home of the GPU World Photography Center, hosted a standout exhibition featuring selected works from the GPU Photo Festival 2025 in Krakow. With powerful imagery and distinguished honors, the event highlighted both artistic achievement and the society’s global presence.
GPU participated in Photo Beijing 2025 as co-organizer, presenting two major international exhibitions “View & Appreciate” and “Origin of Civilization” and a focused symposium. GPU President Manolis Metzakis, Vice President Guo Jing, and collaborators showcased historic and contemporary work, strengthening global photographic dialogue in Beijing.
The Kraków region, centered around Kraków, a major city in southern Poland and former Polish capital, offered a great mix of history, culture, and natural beauty, including the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic center with medieval architecture, the moving Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, the unique Wieliczka Salt Mine, and the former Jewish district of Kazimierz.
The Global Photographic Union extends its mission beyond artistic expression, donating 152 photographic works to support the remarkable orphanages founded by Father Bojte Csaba in Transylvania, bringing beauty and hope to over 6,000 children.
